I extend a big welcome to the Year 4 students and parents of 2016. I trust that you and your child will enjoy being part of our community this year. I have the privilege of teaching 4 White.
I have a great respect for children and see it as my responsibility to present your child with learning opportunities that engage them and make them think so that they can grow and improve their knowledge and skills.
I have been teaching in the Logan area for most of my career, apart from a six month stint in the UK. It was pleasing to learn that children are not that different on the other side of the world. They all want to learn and have fun and need to be taught how to adjust their behaviour to different situations.
I believe that all children need to be empowered to take control of their behaviour, learning and friendship choices. It is up to the adults in their lives to show them by example how this is done. I run a classroom where students are challenged to reach their full potential, by setting learning goals, celebrating when they are achieved and resetting new goals to channel their learning.
I’m looking forward to a year of fun, learning and building healthy relationships with students and parents. Together we can work out anything.
